July 6, Kids Against Hunger Central Texas
Shipped 141,702 meals to Hope for the Hungry schools and orphanages in Haiti. Shown are the four directors of KAH Central Texas, from the left, Jerry Gibson, Madiene Gibson, Judy Eidson, and Lamar Eidson.
These meals are the result of twelve packaging events conducted over the past eight months. Over 300 volunteers from churches, schools, and civic organizations donated their time and money to produce these meals. Each of these dehydrated meals has a shelf-life of three years and contains 21 vitamins and minerals and 52% protein. This nutritious combination forms the foundation of the daily diet of each student and orphan.
This shipment of 141,702 meals and the shipments last year of 258,000 meals brings the total number of meals shipped to Haiti to 399,702 over the last year and a half.
